Supreme Cat Show 2003.

We arrived at the NEC Birmingham early on Sat 29th Nov. We settled Leo & Gypsy into their pens, now the nail biting starts. First to be judged by Mrs Linda Ashmore was Leo, she took him out and judged him then returned him to his ring pen next she judged Gypsy against the other females in her class. She was given the UK GRAND Certificate for the female section, she was now judged in the Usual Abyssinian BOB class against the usual male, but the male won the Best of Breed. Back to Leo we still didn't know what he had won, then he was taken out again and re judged against the Sorrel female in the BOB. The female was put back into her pen. Mrs Ashmore then held up Leo with his TWO rosettes, UK GRAND CHAMPION and BEST OF BREED. This meant that Leo was now entered into the Best of Variety Foreign Section, unfortunately the Best of Variety Foreign was won by a Bengal. What a day it turned out to be 2 UK Grand Champion Certificates and a Best of Breed not bad at all.

Northern Counties 8th Sept 2001.

We arrived at the Graham sports centre Durham on a lovely sunny morning with Angie and Cleo. We had a mixed day with Angie getting 1st in the Open, CC and Best of Breed. Cleo only managed 3rd in the Open (she had some stiff competition) but managed to get two 1st's in her side classes.

Teeside 25th Aug 2001.

We only had Gypsy with us to Spennymoor but what a day she had. She won 1st in th Open class, CC and Best of Breed, she also got firsts in all her side classes. We knew she had it in her.

Chester & Nth Wales 11th Aug 2001.

What a warm day it was in Chester and the humans felt it too. Although it was warm it turned out to be a good day. Leo was made up to CHAMPION and Gypsy could only manage 2nd in the Open Gwynedd 21st July 2001. Show reports for the Gwynedd Cat Club Show 21/7/01 at Queensferry, Nth Wales. We arrived at the show at 8.30am and after vetting-in we settled Leo and Gypsy into their pens. There was a fantastic turnout of abys in all classes, so we were looking forward to a good day. After the open results came through we were a bit disappointed that Gypsy only managed 2nd place ( she was up against a good female in Ch. Adwelsh Red Oktober) but Leo did us proud by getting 1st, Best of Breed and he picked up his 2nd Challenge Certificate. But it wasn't to end there because we had entered Leo into the Pro Plan / Our Cats Stakes and he won 1st place for best foreign adult, he them went on to best overall foreign and become a Grand Finalist. We went home on cloud nine!!!!!!!!!!!

Nor'east of Scotland 12th May 2001.

Show reports for the Nor'East of Scotland Cat Club Show 12/5/01, at Dundee. We travelled to Dundee very early on Sat morning in glorious sunshine and what a good day it turned out to be. Leo and Angie were both entered into the show. Angie was in the kitten classes along with her litter brother Elvis, she came 2nd to his 1st in the Open Class, she received a further 1st and two 2nd's in side classes. Leo didn't fare as well he only picked up 1st in the Open Class, Best of Breed, Challenge Certificate and three 1st in the rest of his classes !!!! DIDN'T HE DO WELL!!! He still does a good job at redesigning his pen before the 10am start to judging.

Shorthair CC of Scotland 7th April 2001.

Show reports for the Shorthair Cat Club of Scotland Show 7/4/01, at Glenrothes Fife. Decision made many weeks before the show to take Gypsy and Max ( now named Ally by his new family). What a day and it didn't start well !!! Gypsy was great, Max was the problem from the start of the journey in the car. He didn't like sharing the car with a noisy female, he didn't like being touched up by the vet ( who does like their private bit being checked out anyway), from then on he was in no mood to face the judges. Even after all that he still achieved 1st in the open class. Gypsy on the other hand sailed through the day collecting 1st in the Open class, Best of Breed, and a further two 1st's in side classes. We assisted Dorothy and John Harley on the ACA stall, funds raised go to help Abyssinian cats.

Scottish CC 3rd Feb 2001.

Show report from the Scottish Cat Club Show 3/2/2001, at the Braehead Arena, Glasgow. What a great show and such a marvelous venue, hope this is now its new home. As I was asked to steward at short notice for Mrs Macaulay ( judge ) I left it to Lisa and Carol to take all the photos and names of all the cats in the Aby classes at the show. There was a good turn out of Abys in all the classes including Ruth Murray's two exhibition pens. It should be no surprise to us Aby breeders that both of the Grand Champion classes (Foreign Section male & female) were won by Abys. The Abyssinian Cat Club had a stall which was organised by Sandra Foubister, with support from Margaret & Dougie Munro and Diane Carr. This attracted much interest in Abys with the proceeds going towards the Aby Cat Club.

Northern Counties 9th Sept 2000.

Show report from the Northern Counties Show 9/9/2000, Spennymoor Co Durham. Correspondence by Ace reporter "Leo". Well we arrived at Spennymoor on Saturday bright and early, so dad said, to find that most of the stalls were already setup. That's when mum hit the PANIC button. John and Dorothy Harley both helped mum get the stall up and ready for business. During all of this dad had been coming and going bringing in boxes from the car and Buffy and yours truly had been fair neglected. Then on his last trip with the boxes he brought a wonderful present for Me a fluffy bed and did I need it zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!! The show went well (so mum & dad said ) Buffy got a 1st, 2nd & two 3rd's , I tried to tell them she wasn't worth bringing but would the listen to me. Also at the show was Dorothy Harleys cat "Spicey" she was awarded 1st, C.C and Best of Breed in the Open class and is now a Champion ( PS. I slept with here when she came to visit me at our house. When I say slept I mean SLEPT I don't have sex on the first date I,m a traditional man I believe in sex after marriage) . Also at the show Carla Martin's Sorrel kitten who got 1st in the open I'll be looking out for her again ( she was a cute chick! Oops, I mean a cute little kitten) . As for me well I slept through most of the show except when dad would wake me up because some humans were cooing at me then dad would pick me out of the cage so they could get a better look at me. I wish people wouldn't coo all over me its humiliating because I'm a Teenager and that sort of thing should only happen to Kittens and I've got an image to hold up you know!!! Thanks to Gill Wilson ( the nice lady who looks after my bruvver Rory ) for coming along and talking to my mum and dad it gave me more time to have some peace. Here is another photo of the show , Doesn't my mum just kill you!
